ASUS Introduces V16 Laptop: A New Choice for Gamers and Creators
ASUS is introducing to its lineup a new 16-inch laptop, the V16 (model V3607). The laptop seems targeted at gamers who enjoy content creation but might not need the absolute latest and greatest specs. It boasts a fast display and the latest graphics functionality from NVIDIA.
Visuals and Performance Punch
Its highlight is the 16-inch IPS screen with a 1920x1200 resolution. Gamers will be especially interested to know that it features a 144Hz smooth refresh rate for seamless motion in graphics-intensive games. The screen has a maximum brightness of 300 nits.
Driving those visuals is the recently launched NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card. For processing muscle, consumers will have an option of two capable Intel CPUs: a 10-core Core i7 240H or an 8-core Core i5 210H. The V16 can be equipped with up to 32GB of speedy DDR5-5600 RAM (via SODIMM slots), and storage maxes out at a 1TB drive.
Connectivity and Build
Supplying power to it all on the go is a 63 Wh battery. For connecting it all, ASUS has included:
- One USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port (with DisplayPort 1.4 and PD 3.0 charging support)
- Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports
- One HDMI 2.1 (FRL) port
- One standard 3.5mm headphone jack
Interestingly, ASUS also mentions that the laptop's body is MIL-STD-810H durability standard compliant, which suggests that it's built to withstand a bit more than your average bumps and scratches.
Pricing and Availability
As for pricing and availability of when you can get the ASUS V16 and for how much, ASUS hasn't announced that yet. We'll have to wait for a follow-up announcement.
