Summer Game Fest 2025: Excitement Builds for a Packed Event
Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest (SGF) is just around the corner. The excitement is already mounting as it goes without saying that this gigantic summer gaming celebration is on its way to unprecedented awesomeness this season.
Partners Coming on Board for SGF 2025
Summer Game Fest hits the official note on their X page saying that it's an action-packed schedule that they all are going to experience. Over 60 partners are included in the three-day fittings of games, and that is just a simple indication of a lot of possible announcements.
It's official, and PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo will all be part of SGF 2025. All three of the major players in gaming would participate in the event. Therefore, we could anticipate platform-delivered huge news or game reveals from the giants in the industry.
Aside from those platforms, there are plenty of other names to watch, including:
- SEGA (and with recent leaks, who knows what they might show.)
- Blumhouse Games (bringing their horror expertise to gaming)
- Annapurna Interactive (always a source of unique and artistic titles)
- Yacht Club Games (more on them in a moment.)
- Devolver Digital (because you can always count on Devolver for something memorable and quirky)
The Big Question: Mina the Hollower's Potential Moment
Actually seeing Yacht Club Games on the partner list has caused a particularly powerful wave of anticipation within me. This could be it. Finally, we may have a release date for that highly anticipated next game, Mina the Hollower.
Everyone knows and loves Yacht Club Games for the phenomenal Shovel Knight and all its various spin-offs. But Mina the Hollower is a big deal-it's their first entirely new game, not based on the Shovel Knight universe, since the original Shovel Knight swept the indie world. (And yes, for those keeping score, Yacht Club published Cyber Shadow, but they didn't develop it. Mina is all them.)
Actually, it would be a great highlight point for the showcase-if it ends up revealing Mina the Hollower. This step is very important for a studio that has given us one of the most beloved platformers of the last decade.
