ASUS has revealed a compact ProArt GeForce RTX 5090 alongside an expanded lineup of studio motherboards at IBC in Amsterdam. Built on NVIDIA Blackwell architecture with 32GB of GDDR7 memory, the graphics card squeezes top tier AI performance into a smaller 2.5 slot form factor. The hardware targets creative studios and machine learning developers who need dense workstation power.
Shrinking a flagship GPU usually means dealing with thermal bottlenecks. ASUS claims to have solved this problem. The new card combines liquid metal compound, a vapor chamber, and a dual flow through fan layout to boost cooling efficiency by 11% compared to traditional designs. It cuts the overall physical footprint by 27%, making it the first 2.5 slot RTX 5090 built for multi GPU systems. For computational heavy lifting, the board churns out 3352 AI TOPs and includes an integrated USB Type C port for direct display and peripheral hookups.
To support the GPU, ASUS expanded its ProArt motherboard catalog for mainstream creative platforms. The lineup includes the ProArt X870E Creator WiFi, ProArt Z890 Creator WiFi, and the fresh ProArt B850 Creator WiFi Neo. These boards are tuned for video production and 3D rendering where high bandwidth data pipelines are mandatory. They offer fast storage connections and networking lanes that allow editors to shuttle large assets across local servers without lag.
For heavy duty compute racks, the company also detailed its Pro WS motherboard series. This enterprise bracket features the Pro WS W890E SAGE SE, Pro WS W890 SAGE, Pro WS WRX90E SAGE SE, and Pro WS TRX50 SAGE WIFI A. These systems accept AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro and Intel Xeon silicon. They bring PCIe 5.0 expansion across multiple graphics slots, ECC DDR5 R DIMM memory support to stop data corruption, and up to 2 10G Ethernet ports for massive studio pipelines.
