A new wearable device revealed at IFA 2026 aims to replace standard wrist dive computers with an integrated heads up display. The AREX ONE attaches to a diving mask to project critical dive data straight into the vision of the diver. The unit will launch on Kickstarter with a price tag of $1499.

The optical module projects a 640x480 resolution image with a 30 degree field of view. It maintains 98% transparency so the screen never blocks the natural view of the underwater world. Peak brightness hits 3000 nits, allowing divers to read vital numbers clearly even in sunlit shallow waters. This direct visual approach eliminates the need to constantly look down at your wrist during a descent.

Under the housing sits a standalone dive computer engineered for depths down to 120 meters. It supports open circuit systems, closed circuit rebreathers, freediving profiles, and basic gauge modes. Users can customize their safety margins with adjustable gradient factors powered by the Buhlmann ZHL 16C decompression algorithm. Gas management includes support for standard air, nitrox, and trimix mixtures.

Physical controls rely on a touch sensitive button and a rotary control dial designed specifically for thick neoprene gloves. The alert system combines haptic vibration with flashing LED signals to warn about depth limits and ascent rates. The entire unit weighs 300 grams. Optional add on gear includes a wireless tank pressure transmitter, an LED dive light, and a 4K scanner with local machine learning to identify marine animals in real time. Backer orders open later this month.
