Mobile RTX 5070 16% performance upgrade compared to RTX 5060, is it worth it
The current performance analysis from the YouTube channel Jarrod'sTech has benchmarked the mobile NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 and RTX 5070. Tests feature 25 modern games, and show the consistent performance advantage of the higher-end variant, albeit underlining good value offered by the lower-end RTX 5060.
Test Methodology
For uniform test comparison, identical Lenovo Legion 5i Pro (2025) laptops were used. Both systems are equipped with Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor and 32GB DDR5 RAM. Tests are conducted on games at Full HD (1080p) and Quad HD (1440p).
Performance Results
On average, the performance gaps between the different graphics cards were consistent at different resolutions:
- At 1440p (Quad HD) The RTX 5070 was 16.58% faster than the RTX 5060.
- At 1080p (Full HD) The RTX 5070 enjoyed a 16.14% advantage over the RTX 5060.
Games Significant Performance Gap
There were some very demanding titles for which the RTX 5070 stretched its lead by more than 20%:
- A Plague Tale Requiem
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Heart of Chornobyl
- Marvel's Spider-Man 2
- Assassin's Creed Shadows
- Alan Wake 2
Price versus Performance Is the Value There
In the analysis, the issue of price was also brought into the discussion. The price tag of most laptops with a GeForce RTX 5070 will usually be around 20% more costly than similar models provided with a GeForce RTX 5060. However, the increase in performance shown is only about 16% on average, making the RTX 5060 the better choice in terms of "price per frame." This makes the RTX 5060 a more worthy investment when it comes to performance on a tight budget for gamers, especially.
