Xbox Cloud Gaming Enjoys Tremendous Growth and Reaches New Markets Around the World

Xbox has reported a surge in adoption of cloud gaming. Ashley McKissick, the company's CVP for Xbox Experiences and Platforms Engineering, revealed that streaming hours for Game Pass subscribers have increased by 45% over last year. It showcases a transformation in consumption patterns among players for the games they love, with console owners now devoting 45% more time to streaming directly to their consoles while also streaming via other devices 24% longer than before.

New Markets India and Latin America

In anticipation of this growing demand, Xbox has put up an aggressive building campaign across the globe. India, a rapidly growing market of more than 500 million gamers, is officially live with this service. This brings the overall supported countries to 29.

And it is rocking pretty well down in Latin America

  • Argentina and Brazil double-digit increases have been registered in both hours played and unique users.
  • Expanded Access Players in these territories may now stream via the Xbox app on LG TVs and Amazon Fire TV.
  • Infrastructure Enhancements Xbox has increased server throughputs across the region so waiting times are shorter while providing smoother sessions.

Stream Your Own Game and Device Flexibility

Flexibility in the platform is a major reason why this is happening. Xbox Cloud Gaming now supports a wide range of devices, from PCs, portable devices, and smartphones to VR headsets such as Meta Quest and coming soon, cars.

The games shelf is evolving, too. In addition to hundreds of titles offered in Game Pass, the "Stream your own game" catalog includes more than a thousand titles. This enables players to stream some of the games they already have ownership of without any downloads. Featured in the platform include The Outer Worlds 2, Ball x Pit, and Blue Prince, among others.

With several Game Pass subscriptions now bundled with cloud access, Xbox is offering an inclusive gaming experience regardless of what the hardware is.
