Eidos Montreal Developing New Alien Game

The Eidos Montreal team, makers of Deus Ex Human Revolution and Mankind Divided, is in the works of developing a new game based on the Alien horror franchise. According to sources for Insider Gaming, the project is still in its early production stages.

Gameplay, Setting, and Story Details

The game is said to be "Shadow of the Tomb Raider with xenomorphs." The narrative revolves around an abandoned space station wherein the protagonist engineer, Aubrey, has to fight the xenomorphs and military personnel, all the while using puzzle-solving gameplay, acrobatics, and combat against an AI with shifting tactics responsive to the player's style.

The story will also introduce one Ryuzo, a potential antagonist, and Ripley 8, Ellen Ripley's clone. They want to hire Sigourney Weaver to play Ripley 8, but there is no deal with her at this time.

Development History and Release Target

Once upon a time called "Marathon," this project has been pitched around studios since about 2020. After being passed between teams, it ended up with Eidos Montreal. Supposedly in excess of $75 million has been given to this project, up from an earlier estimated $30 million.
