Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 Launch Features New AI Agent Cover Display

Along with the zfold 8 and 8 ultra, Samsung has updated its clamshell lineup with the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip8. The phone introduces a slimmer 6.1 millimeter chassis paired with an expanded 4.1 inch cover display that lets you run artificial intelligence agents without unfolding the screen. However, the premium design changes come with a high entry point, as the device starts at $1199 USD.

The hardware changes focus on portability and screen real estate. When unfolded, the body measures just 6.1 millimeters thick and weighs 180 grams. It is surprisingly light. The outer screen is a 4.1 inch Super AMOLED FlexWindow that supports refresh rates ranging from 60 to 120Hz. Inside, you get a larger 6.9 inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display. Powering the system is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which is tailored specifically for the Galaxy series.

The software experience centers heavily on the expanded outer display. By holding the power key, users can access Gemini Intelligence directly from the closed screen. The goal is speed. This allows you to speak naturally to perform app actions like calling a taxi or ordering food without ever opening the device. The outer window also shows custom widgets, notification summaries, and daily tasks through a feature called Now Brief.

For photography, the phone carries a 50MP main camera and a 12MP ultra wide lens. These sensors are supported by the software based ProVisual Engine to improve photo processing. A 4300mAh battery keeps the phone running throughout the day. According to details on the official Samsung portal, the Galaxy Z Flip8 is available for purchase now, catering to users who want a highly compact pocket computer with advanced assistant capabilities.
