ASRock has expanded its budget hardware lineup with the B550M Pro A WiFi 6E, a new microATX motherboard for AMD AM4 systems. The board updates the existing design with a fresh Wi Fi 6E module while supporting Ryzen 3000, 4000G, 5000, and 5000G processors. While official retail availability is still finalizing, the hardware is expected to sell for around $90.
Motherboard brands continue to release AM4 hardware nearly 10 years after the socket first launched. High prices for newer memory formats have kept DDR4 platforms popular among budget PC builders. The new ASRock board accepts multiple generations of AMD silicon, covering desktop processors from the Matisse and Vermeer families alongside Cezanne and Renoir chips. Power delivery relies on an 8 phase layout to handle daily compute loads.
Memory expansion includes 4 DDR4 DIMM slots capable of reaching DDR4 4733 speeds through overclocking. This setup gives builders plenty of room to tune affordable memory kits without needing expensive hardware upgrades.
Physical expansion options are generous for a compact board. You get 1 PCIe 4.0 x16 slot for modern graphics cards, 1 secondary PCIe 3.0 x16 slot, and 2 PCIe 3.0 x1 slots for extra expansion cards. Custom lighting setups also get 2 RGB headers and 2 addressable RGB headers for system illumination.
