The upcoming preview combines fresh gameplay footage, complete with a look at the state of Leonida, with a streaming debut for subscribers. However, players must wait. The full game drops on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X S.
Subscribers can watch the footage first at 3 p.m. ET on August 27. A press release from Rockstar Games confirms the video will shift to YouTube and the official game website at 9 p.m. ET. It is a major media crossover. The industry has never seen a game reveal happen this way.
The deal marks a massive moment for Netflix. Nonfiction vice president Brandon Riegg expressed excitement about hosting the debut, calling the platform a natural home for ambitious storytelling. This event lands 13 years after the previous game arrived. It is a poetic timeline. Back then, Netflix was just starting to make original television shows.
The plot centers on a criminal duo named Jason and Lucia. Their struggle takes place in the fictional state of Leonida, a region based on Vice City. When a simple robbery goes wrong, they end up trapped in a massive conspiracy. Survival depends on their trust in each other. Rockstar is focusing entirely on this single player campaign, with no online mode announced yet.
Pre orders started back in June on the rockstargames.com/VI website. A standard copy costs $79.99. This entry tier purchase comes as a digital download or a physical box containing a code rather than a disc. Buyers can also choose a $99.99 ultimate version. That premium edition adds in virtual clothing, weapons, and vehicles to use in the game.
