JGINYUE Z690EM Snow Dream W Motherboard Launches with PCIe Gen5 Support

JGINYUE has launched the Z690EM Snow Dream W motherboard for budget Intel PC builders. The refreshed board brings a full speed PCIe Gen5 x16 slot, faster memory overclocking support, and beefier heatsinks for 599 yuan about 89.13$ US. But the upgrade comes with a few hardware trade offs on the front and rear panels.

The board builds on the foundation of the earlier D4 version while improving high speed component bandwidth. The primary expansion slot now operates at PCIe Gen5 x16 speeds instead of Gen4, allowing users to pair modern graphics cards without throughput limits. Memory overclocking headroom also rises to 4133 MT/s for DDR4 kits. Cooling gets a noticeable boost as well, with thicker metal heatsinks covering the power delivery area.

Under the heatsinks sits a 14 plus 1 plus 1 phase 55A DrMOS VRM design powered by an 8 plus 4 pin EPS CPU connector. Storage options remain flexible with 1 PCIe Gen4 x4 M.2 slot, 2 PCIe Gen3 x4 M.2 slots, and a secondary PCIe Gen4 x4 expansion slot for add in cards. Wired networking is handled by a 2.5GbE ethernet controller.

To hit the 599 yuan price point with PCIe Gen5 support, JGINYUE trimmed several auxiliary features. The manufacturer removed the integrated Wi Fi card module and eliminated 3 audio jacks from the rear cluster. Builders will also lose the front panel USB C header. However, the rear I/O gains 2 extra USB A 480Mbps ports for peripherals, along with 2 extra 5V ARGB lighting headers on the board.

Internal header routing also gets minor tweaks. One standard PWM fan header is now assigned specifically for water cooling pumps to prevent pump throttling. The digital debug display no longer sits on the rear I/O shield, having been moved directly onto the internal circuit board for easier troubleshooting inside a transparent PC case.
