LG Electronics has introduced ThinQ Claw, an intelligent home assistant built to automate household appliances based on user habits. The system analyzes personal schedules and messages to coordinate connected devices without requiring manual setup routines. LG will showcase the full platform alongside its broader ecosystem at the upcoming IFA 2026 trade show.
Standard smart home gadgets usually wait for direct voice commands. ThinQ Claw changes this by reading context. Built on the OpenClaw software concept, the assistant connects to personal calendars and messaging services to anticipate what a household needs. If you message a friend about having dinner, the software can adjust room climate settings and start preheating kitchen appliances before guests walk through the door. Because the system tracks recurring routines over time, it handles these jobs automatically without forcing you to build complex automation rules.
Connecting hardware across different manufacturers remains a big headache for consumers. LG addressed this by demonstrating its Homey smart platform, which allows gear from competing brands to communicate across standard smart home protocols. FoneArena reports that this setup ties directly into a dedicated Home Energy Management System. The software links solar panels, home storage batteries, electric vehicle chargers, and kitchen appliances to adjust electricity consumption in real time.
The company is also looking beyond single family houses. At IFA 2026 in Europe, LG plans to debut ThinQ Pro, a specialized platform tailored for commercial property managers and large apartment buildings. This software brings automated appliance control and energy tracking to multi unit properties, showing that LG wants its smart software in both private living rooms and commercial real estate.
