4A Games has finally showcased what comes next for the beloved franchise. Metro 2039, which is slated as a full, current-gen sequel to 2019’s Metro Exodus, received its first trailer, offering a real look at the expansive and intricately detailed environments of post-apocalyptic Moscow.
Unlike previous entries, Metro 2039 introduces a brand-new protagonist who must fight against the fascistic Novoreich regime for control of the ruined city. The trailer highlights the series' trademark desperate combat encounters and explosive set-pieces.
