The MSI Katana 15 HX C14 packs up to an Intel Core i9 14900HX processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics, and up to 96GB of memory into a redesigned 2.1 kilogram chassis. While it cuts down on thickness and weight, buyers can still choose budget friendly DDR4 memory configurations in select regions.
MSI trimmed down the chassis to make this version easier to carry around campus or to work. The laptop is 10.2% thinner and 12.5% lighter than earlier models, measuring between 21 and 22.9 millimeters thick. On the exterior, the lid carries a metal blade emblem alongside wave patterned accents inspired by Japanese sword craftsmanship. It gives the machine a unique visual identity that avoids looking overly aggressive in an office or classroom.
Raw computing power comes from the top tier Intel Core i9 14900HX processor with 24 cores and boost speeds reaching 5.8GHz. Graphics processing relies on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU running 8GB of fast GDDR7 memory. This graphics setup brings support for DLSS 4.5 multi frame generation to keep frame rates smooth in demanding games. To keep temperatures stable under heavy loads, the Cooler Boost system uses 2 fans, 3 heat pipes, and 4 exhaust vents to manage a combined power budget of 170W across the processor and graphics chip.
