NVIDIA has published its official support roadmap for GeForce graphics cards running on Windows 10. The company plans to provide full Game Ready and Studio driver releases for 1 extra year to accommodate the large remaining player base. Regular performance updates will then stop entirely as the hardware maker shifts to quarterly security fixes.
Microsoft officially concluded standard support for the operating system late last year. Because millions of PC players still rely on the platform daily, NVIDIA chose to extend feature releases rather than cutting users off immediately. According to an updated knowledge base document on the official NVIDIA support portal, full driver rollouts will continue until late 2026. The final Game Ready driver supporting the older operating system will drop in October, with the very next release in November leaving the platform behind permanently. That is a hard cutoff. New game day optimizations will require an operating system upgrade after that point.
Losing day 1 game profiles does not mean your graphics card will stop working overnight. NVIDIA is setting up a safety net for anyone who cannot upgrade their operating system right away. Starting in late 2026, the company will switch to a maintenance cycle delivering quarterly security updates. This secondary phase will run for 3 years, pushing critical vulnerability patches through late 2029. Hardware security stays intact. Only specialized gaming optimizations get left behind.
This phased rollout gives desktop users plenty of breathing room. Anyone looking to play upcoming blockbusters with optimized launch day drivers will eventually need to move to Windows 11. Until the late 2026 deadline hits, existing rigs on Windows 10 will continue to receive the exact same driver packages as newer systems.
