Odyssey OLED G9 and G8 Multi Mode Speed
The flagship Odyssey OLED G9 G95SJ brings a massive 49 inch Dual QHD canvas running at 360 Hz. Under the hood, Samsung placed a 5 layer QD OLED structure that offers 1.3 times better efficiency and double the operational lifespan of older models. A new RGB Stripe subpixel arrangement sharpens text clarity, while peak brightness climbs to 1300 nits on a 3% display window. Speed junkies can trigger Dual Mode, which drops resolution down to 2560x720 in exchange for a blisteringly fast 720 Hz refresh rate alongside a 0.03 ms response time.
Competitive players looking for a traditional 16:9 ratio get the 32 inch Odyssey OLED G8 G80SJ. This model lets gamers select between UHD at 360 Hz, QHD at 520 Hz, or 1080p at 680 Hz depending on the title. Samsung added a Glare Free coating that cuts light reflections by 54% for daytime sessions. The panel hits VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 600 standards, supports both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G Sync, and packs a modern DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20 port alongside USB C with 98W power delivery.
A 42 Inch Curved OLED and 1100Hz Esports Speed
Samsung is also carving out a completely fresh category with the Odyssey OLED G7 G75SJ. It is the first 42 inch 16:9 curved OLED monitor on the market, offering 72% more viewing space than standard 32 inch panels with a deep 1000R curvature. The screen runs 4K resolution at 165 Hz, catering directly to open world role playing games.
For pure first person shooter esports, the 27 inch Odyssey G6 G60H breaks the speed ceiling. It reaches a record 1100 Hz in HD resolution and 600 Hz in QHD on a Fast IPS panel with a 1 ms response time.
Beyond raw hardware specs, Samsung highlighted software integrations during its Gamescom keynote. The brand is working with Activision Blizzard to implement HDR10+ GAMING directly into Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4, with plans to expand the standard to over 20 AAA games.
