TSMC has distributed its second quarter employee profit sharing pool, totaling approximately NT$36 billion. Payouts rose by more than 50% compared to the same period last year following record earnings across high performance computing and automotive divisions. The semiconductor giant continues to reward its workforce as quarterly profits reach new highs.
Record breaking demand pushed the chipmaker to historical highs in the second quarter. Revenue hit US$40.2 billion, which translates to roughly NT$1.27 trillion. Net profit attributable to the parent company jumped 77.4% to reach NT$706.56 billion, resulting in earnings per share of NT$27.25. High performance computing, automotive chips, consumer electronics, and internet of things platforms all contributed to the surge.
According to TSMC financial filings, the company splits its annual employee bonus into 2 distinct distributions. Half of the bonus is paid out each quarter, while the remaining half arrives following the annual shareholder meeting the next year. Total employee bonuses for the first 6 months reached NT$70.347 billion, marking a 54.3% increase over the previous year.
The growth in worker bonuses did not match the 77.4% jump in net profits. TSMC allocated a larger portion of its earnings toward sustainability projects and community investments across Taiwan. Even with that shift in capital allocation, the bonus increase easily surpassed the 30% growth rate recorded in 2025.
