Acer has unveiled the Aspire G 3D 16, a 16 inch laptop combining AMD Strix Halo processors with glasses free stereoscopic 3D viewing. The machine runs on the Ryzen AI Max+ platform and packs up to 128GB of high speed memory into an 18.3 millimeter chassis. Announced at the next@acer global press conference, the portable computer is built for creators looking to work in spatial dimensions without wearing a headset.
The main draw here is the 16 inch IPS panel. It switches seamlessly between regular 2D viewing and spatial 3D visualization. In standard 2D mode, the screen pushes a crisp 3840x2400 resolution. Flipping over to 3D mode drops the horizontal split to 1920x2400 to project realistic depth directly to your eyes. It refreshes at 120Hz, hits 450 nits of brightness, and covers 100% of the DCI P3 color space. Acer preloads its SpatialLabs 3D Hub software on the device, allowing users to convert standard flat media into dimensional scenes on the fly.
Under the hood sits AMD Ryzen AI Max+ silicon built on the Strix Halo architecture. This platform gives the laptop desktop grade graphics and processor performance without requiring a massive power brick. You can spec the system with up to 128GB of LPDDR5X 8000 memory and 2TB of fast M.2 PCIe Gen4 NVMe storage. Despite the heavy silicon, the laptop weighs 1.8 kilograms.
Port selection is generous for a mobile workstation. You get 2 USB4 connections alongside an SD UHS II card reader for quick media offloads. Wireless connectivity uses the latest Wi Fi 7 standard, while a built in 5MP IR webcam handles video calls and facial login. Power comes from a massive 99.9Whr battery, which is the legal flight limit for passenger aircraft.
