AMD Expands Middle East AI Infrastructure with Cisco and HUMAIN

AMD is expanding its presence across the Middle East through massive enterprise computing rollouts. During the LEAP 2026 event in Riyadh, the hardware maker confirmed live deployments of its Instinct MI355X processors alongside partners Cisco and HUMAIN. The initiative aims to push regional artificial intelligence capacity to 1 gigawatt by 2030 while giving local businesses direct access to dedicated hardware.

In Saudi Arabia, the production hardware is already operational and handling workloads for active clients. The setup relies on AMD Instinct MI355X graphics chips, AMD EPYC server processors, and Cisco networking gear. The group plans to deploy 250 megawatts of extra capacity starting in 2027. This project fits directly into the economic goals of Vision 2030 by encouraging local development instead of relying entirely on foreign cloud providers.

Building raw compute is only half the battle. To make sure local engineers can actually use this hardware, AMD formed an initiative with the Saudi Ministry of Communications and Information Technology alongside the Digital Cooperation Organization. This group provides regional programmers and startups with open software tools, technical training, and governance frameworks.

Many regional companies want artificial intelligence capabilities but lack the budget for massive data center footprints. To bridge that gap, HUMAIN created the AI in a Box application platform. The system packages AMD processors into a smaller, accessible appliance so local companies can test models and automate tasks without building custom server farms from scratch. It is a direct route to measurable returns.

Similar expansions are happening across neighboring countries. In the United Arab Emirates, AMD is teaming up with telecom operator e and cloud company Core42 to supply enterprise and edge systems. In Qatar, data center operator MEEZA is testing AMD hardware to meet surging customer demand for high performance computing. The focus across all these agreements centers on open software ecosystems that allow businesses to run workloads where they make the most financial sense.
