Chuwi Launches NeoBook Laptop with Intel Core 3 100U and Upgradeable Storage

Chuwi has launched the NeoBook, an affordable 14 inch laptop featuring an Intel Core 3 100U processor and an easily upgradeable design. The lightweight machine offers a 1920x1200 display, expandable memory slots, and a broad selection of legacy ports. The laptop is now available in global markets with prices starting at $409.

Under the hood, the laptop runs on an Intel Core 3 100U processor based on Raptor Lake architecture. The chip packs 6 cores and 8 threads with turbo speeds reaching up to 4.7GHz. Unlike many modern budget machines that solder components permanently, Chuwi keeps the internal layout user friendly. You get 2 SO DIMM DDR4 memory slots and 2 M.2 2280 slots for storage expansion.

Buyers can choose between 2 primary hardware tiers. The base model sells for $409 and includes 8GB of RAM with a 256GB SATA drive. Spending $499 upgrades the machine to 16GB of RAM alongside a faster 512GB PCIe Gen3 solid state drive. Both versions allow users to swap out parts later as computing needs grow.

Portability is a central focus of the build. The NeoBook weighs approximately 1.2kg and measures 16.4mm thick, making it easy to slip into a bag for travel. Its 14 inch IPS screen features a taller 16:10 aspect ratio with a resolution of 1920x1200 and a 60Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness reaches 300 nits. The hinge opens a full 180 degrees to lay flat across a table. Above the panel, Chuwi included a 720p webcam with a physical privacy switch for quick security control.

Power comes from a 53.38Wh battery that delivers up to 7 hours of continuous 1080p video playback. Fast charging reaches 65W to minimize downtime at the wall outlet. Connectivity is unusually complete for a slim budget laptop. The chassis includes USB Type C, USB Type A, HDMI, an RJ45 ethernet jack, and a microSD card slot. This variety allows users to connect external displays and wired networks without packing extra adapters.
