GPD has opened presales for the WIN Max 3, a modular handheld gaming PC powered by AMD Strix Halo silicon. The device features a 9.06 inch 165Hz AMOLED display, swappable cooling and battery modules, and support for up to 128GB of RAM. Presale pricing in China starts at 9999 yuan for the base configuration.
Under the hood, the device packs AMD Ryzen AI Max series APUs, connecting the processors with fast LPDDR5X 8000 memory. The main chassis weighs 815 grams and includes dual M.2 SSD slots alongside a microSD Express reader. Users can customize the back of the device by swapping between a 97Whr battery pack or an extra cooling unit. When the dual fan cooling module is attached to the internal 4 heat pipe system, the hardware unlocks a maximum power limit of 110W to push desktop class gaming performance.
The screen is a central highlight for this generation. It features a 9.06 inch Real RGB AMOLED display running at a resolution of 2400x1504 with a 165Hz refresh rate. The panel reaches a peak brightness of 1050 nits, supports HDR10, and maintains high color accuracy with a Delta E rating under 1. Gamers get full touch and stylus input support. For built in physical controls, GPD installed Hall effect linear triggers, capacitive joysticks, a 6 axis gyroscope, and customizable L4 and R4 back buttons. A 5MP ultra wide camera sits above the display for streaming or video calls.
