Hanvon has released the Clear6 Pro Gen 2, a compact ebook reader built around a 6 inch Carta 1300 screen with 300 PPI clarity. The device features a completely flat front glass, an open Android operating system, and a 3000mAh battery. Pricing starts at 1049 Yuan in China.

The reader uses the latest Carta 1300 electronic ink panel to deliver crisp text at 300 pixels per inch. It supports 256 levels of grayscale for smooth image rendering and introduces a new water ripple animation when turning pages. The chassis measures roughly 7 millimeters in thickness and weighs only 168 grams, making it comfortable to hold in 1 hand for long reading sessions. Hanvon developed the front panel with a flush glass finish rather than a recessed bezel.

Under the hood, the device runs on a 4 core 1.8 GHz processor alongside 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Unlike closed reading platforms, the Clear6 Pro Gen 2 runs an open Android operating system. This allows users to download and install third party applications without restrictions. The software also includes several wireless and wired methods to transfer documents directly from computers and smartphones.

Hanvon is offering the reader in multiple finishes, though rollout is staggered. The Meteorite Black version is available immediately for 1049 Yuan, while the Light Grass Purple edition costs 1099 Yuan. A third option called Bright Moon White has been shown but will hit the market later.
