HP has launched the new Zhan 99 16 inch laptop in China, packing an Intel Core Ultra 7 255H processor and a 120Hz 2.5K display. Built for workstation users, the notebook pairs 16GB of DDR5 memory with a 1TB solid state drive and dual Thunderbolt 4 ports. It is currently listed on JD.com with a retail price of 9999 yuan.
The laptop runs on the Core Ultra 7 255H chip, which features 16 cores and 16 threads. Cooling is handled by 2 fans and 2 heat pipes to keep temperatures down during heavy rendering workloads. Up front, the 16 inch IPS panel runs at a sharp 2.5K resolution. The screen hits a 120Hz refresh rate and reaches 400 nits of peak brightness, backed by 100% DCI P3 color coverage and low blue light filtering.
Ports are plentiful on this machine. You get 2 Thunderbolt 4 connections that can power up to 3 external displays at once, alongside standard USB A, HDMI 2.1, and an RJ45 ethernet jack. Wireless networking covers Wi Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. For video calls, HP included a 5MP infrared camera with Windows Hello support alongside a physical fingerprint sensor. The laptop carries an 83Whr battery, passes 21 separate MIL STD 810H durability tests, and comes with the Zhan AI software platform ready out of the box.
