iPhone 18 Pro Max Battery Test Reveals Big Gains but Trails OnePlus 15

The iPhone 18 Pro Max has officially delivered the longest battery runtimes in Apple history during recent lab testing. Independent benchmarks from Tom's Guide reveal the flagship lasted over 18 hours of continuous web browsing to comfortably beat top phones from Samsung and Google. But the newest Apple hardware still falls more than 6 hours behind the endurance set by the OnePlus 15.

iPhone 18 Pro Max Battery Test Reveals Big Gains but Trails OnePlus 15

The standardized test from Tom's Guide placed phones through continuous 5G web surfing at a fixed 150 nits of screen brightness until the battery died. The smaller iPhone 18 Pro managed 16 hours 17 minutes, which is an improvement of 56 minutes or 6.1% over the older iPhone 17 Pro at 15 hours 21 minutes. The larger iPhone 18 Pro Max posted 18 hours 27 minutes, adding 33 minutes or 3.1% over the 17 hours 54 minutes recorded by the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Apple delivered on its promise of steady internal efficiency improvements.

The results look very competitive against main rivals in the premium segment. The iPhone 18 Pro Max lasted 1 hour 47 minutes longer than the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and beat the Google Pixel 11 Pro XL by nearly 4 hours. Even the smaller iPhone 18 Pro held its ground against larger hardware, trailing the Galaxy S26 Ultra by only 23 minutes despite having a much more compact frame.

Every phone in the test was completely overshadowed by the OnePlus 15. Equipped with a massive 7300 mAh silicon carbon battery, the Chinese flagship ran for an astonishing 25 hours 13 minutes. That gives OnePlus a lead of 6 hours 46 minutes over the best device Apple has ever built. High density silicon carbon battery technology is giving overseas Android manufacturers a massive stamina advantage that traditional lithium packs simply cannot match.
