Vivo sub brand iQOO has shared new details for its upcoming iQOO Pad Ultra compact gaming tablet. The device features an 8.8 inch display, a miniature internal cooling fan, and dedicated clip on controllers designed for mobile gaming. However, pricing details remain under wraps ahead of its official debut later this month.
Mobile tablets rarely include active cooling fans due to space constraints, but iQOO is breaking that trend. According to official promotional material, the tablet houses a tiny internal fan measuring 30 by 30 by 3.5 millimeters. It spins at speeds up to 14500 rpm, delivering a maximum airflow of 0.94 CFM across a heat dissipation area of 1661 square millimeters. The air exits through a dedicated vent next to the square camera module on the rear panel. This active system aims to prevent thermal throttling and keep frame rates smooth during intense gameplay.
Alongside the tablet itself, iQOO is preparing 2 specialized hardware accessories. Gamers can attach a telescopic controller that plugs directly into the device via a Type C port to eliminate input lag. This controller features Hall effect analog sticks and microswitch buttons for tactile responses. A separate ergonomic rear grip is also available to help players hold the compact tablet comfortably during long sessions without straining their wrists.
Industry leaks indicate the device will sport an 8.8 inch OLED panel framed by slim, uniform borders with a centered punch hole for the front camera. The compact body is expected to run on a flagship Snapdragon processor alongside a massive 9000 mAh battery to ensure long gaming sessions. Buyers will be able to choose between End Black and Star Armor Silver finishes. The company plans to introduce the iQOO Pad Ultra in China toward the end of September alongside the flagship iQOO 16 smartphone.
