Japanese display maker JAPANNEXT has launched the JN MD i156U, a new 15.6 inch portable monitor with 4K resolution. The screen features a sharp UHD IPS panel, wide color coverage, and a lightweight build for mobile dual screen setups. The unit is now available in Japan priced at 35,980 yen.
The JN MD i156U is built around a 15.6 inch IPS panel delivering a 3840x2160 resolution at a 60Hz refresh rate. It reaches 420 nits of brightness with a 1500:1 contrast ratio and HDR support for clear image playback. Color reproduction covers 99% of sRGB and 90% of DCI P3 color gamuts. For longer working hours, the screen includes flicker free technology and low blue light filtering to reduce eye fatigue.
Connectivity options cover standard laptops, consoles, and smartphones. The chassis houses 2 USB C ports that support single cable video and power delivery, 1 Mini HDMI port, and 1 microUSB connector. Audio playback is supported by 2 integrated 1W stereo speakers. The display unit weighs 620g on its own, and it comes bundled with a 270g protective cover that functions as a foldable kickstand.
JAPANNEXT also introduced a separate compact screen named the JN MD IPS7843. This elongated secondary display uses a 7.8 inch IPS panel with a 1280x400 resolution and a wide 16:5 aspect ratio. The screen hits 550 nits of brightness, runs at 60Hz, and covers 77% of the sRGB color spectrum. It includes both USB C and Mini HDMI video inputs and sells for 14,480 yen.
