Lenovo has unveiled its first laptop built in Saudi Arabia at the LEAP 2026 tech exhibition in Riyadh. The computer represents the initial hardware produced at the new smart manufacturing base established by the company in the kingdom. Full production across multiple hardware lines is scheduled to begin before the end of 2026.
The facility in Riyadh marks a major step for the global manufacturing network of Lenovo. It stands as the first site worldwide for the brand capable of assembling its complete hardware portfolio under 1 roof. Factory lines are set up to produce enterprise servers, desktop workstations, commercial laptops, and smartphones. Early production units are already rolling off the floor, with full scale operations expanding across more product categories later in the year.
Company executives shared details about the strategic purpose of the facility during the conference. Tareq Alangari, senior vice president and president for the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa at Lenovo, addressed the expansion directly.
