OPPO has launched the K15s, a rugged budget phone built around a massive 8000 mAh battery and extreme water resistance. The device packs a 6.57 inch OLED screen with military grade drop protection and a Dimensity 6360 Max processor. It is currently available in China starting at $240.
Battery longevity is the main selling point here. The 8000 mAh battery supports 45W fast charging to get you back up to speed quickly. OPPO claims the pack will retain at least 80% of its total capacity even after 2000 charge cycles. That means the battery can easily last several years of daily charging without degrading into uselessness.
The phone is built to survive tough conditions. It carries an IP69K rating alongside GJB150A 2009 military durability certification, allowing it to withstand high pressure water jets and accidental drops. Up front, you get a 6.57 inch OLED display with Full HD+ resolution. The glass registers touch inputs from wet or greasy fingers and even works through fabric gloves up to 5mm thick.
Under the hood, the phone runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Max processor. Photography is handled by a 50 megapixel primary camera. You also get an IR blaster for controlling household electronics and an NFC chip for mobile payments. Pricing in China starts at $240 for the model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the 8GB and 256GB configuration costs $285.
