Oukitel has launched the RG14 P, a rugged laptop built specifically for harsh industrial jobs. The machine integrates a solar panel on its top lid that can charge the battery under direct sunlight, paired with a 14th Gen Intel Core i7 processor. It also features dual batteries and an extreme IP69K protection rating.
Solar charging is the standout feature on this device.The outer lid houses photovoltaic panels capable of delivering 15W of charging power. Under optimal sun exposure, this system can take the internal cells from 0% up to 50% in roughly 6 hours. For power management, Oukitel used a dual cell design. It includes a 3000 mAh internal pack alongside a swappable 5200 mAh battery that workers can easily replace in the field.
Field workers rarely operate in gentle conditions. Because of that, the laptop carries an IP69K certification, protecting it against high pressure water jets and heavy dust. The 14.1 inch touchscreen reaches a peak brightness of 1000 nits, keeping the display visible under harsh midday glare. The whole machine weighs 3.7 kilograms. To make carrying easier, Oukitel added a physical handle directly into the bottom of the chassis.
Industrial hardware requires legacy connections that typical consumer laptops dropped years ago. The chassis includes a dedicated RS 232 serial port for factory machinery, an Ethernet jack for stable networking, and a standard HDMI output. Audio comes through 2 speakers outputting 5W each. For security and quick authentication, the system includes a fingerprint scanner and NFC support alongside the 14th Gen Intel Core i7 silicon.
