Phison Sets All Time Monthly Revenue High on Surging PCIe SSD Demand

Storage controller maker Phison Electronics has posted record breaking monthly revenue of NT$28.276 billion (approx. $897.9 million USD). Driven by massive enterprise demand for AI hardware, the company saw a 377% year over year revenue surge. The latest financial data confirms that high speed memory controllers are becoming essential components for AI server infrastructure.

The latest corporate filing reveals sustained commercial momentum across the global supply chain. In addition to the 4% monthly increase, cumulative sales across the first 8 months reached NT$164.293 billion (approx. $5.22 billion USD). That represents a 279% jump compared to the exact same timeframe in the previous year. Both metrics represent all time records for the Taiwanese semiconductor designer. Industry analysts point to rapid expansion in generative AI inference and large data centers as the primary reasons for the jump in orders.

Shipment volumes for silicon controllers show where the market is heading. Overall controller deliveries rose 10% over the previous monthly count. But the standout metric comes from PCIe SSD controllers, which skyrocketed by 77% within a single month. Server builders and enterprise storage providers are buying up inventory as fast as foundries can produce it.

Enterprise customers are moving away from slower legacy storage to meet the data throughput required by neural networks. Phison has positioned its flash controllers directly at server racks where PCIe SSD throughput determines real world training speeds. As cloud providers continue spending billions on AI infrastructure, controller suppliers look ready to capture a major share of that capital.
