SEGA will feature Kalanoro at Tokyo Game Show ahead of its official launch across consoles and PC later this month. Developed by Madagascar based Red Raketa Studio, the action adventure title sends players on a colorful safari across the fictional world of Lemuria. The game will be published by New Tales on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
Visitors attending Tokyo Game Show at Makuhari Messe can play a public demo at the joint SEGA and ATLUS booth. Players who try the hands on showcase will receive an exclusive promotional sticker while supplies last. The appearance marks a major international stage for the indie project before it hits digital storefronts.
The story follows Kalakely, an unusual hero who weaponizes a wild mane of hair during battle. Players use this hair to latch onto opponents and instantly close the distance in combat. The close range fighting leans into slapstick comedy, allowing you to grab everyday objects from the surrounding environment. Frying pans, carrots, and assorted props serve as both melee weapons and projectiles to throw across the arena.
Beyond the wacky combat, the adventure introduces players to a cast of friendly lemurs inhabiting the island setting. The Madagascar inspired world emphasizes bright visuals and fast exploration. With its showcase set for the convention floor this week, players will soon get their first taste of how this bizarre hair combat feels in action.
