Vivo has officially launched the vivo X500 smartphone in China, debuting the MediaTek Dimensity 9600M processor alongside a massive 7500mAh battery. The device brings flagship grade imaging with a custom Sony LYTIA 828 main sensor and an industry first 8K native Live photo capability. Pricing starts at 5499 yuan in China, which converts to roughly 770 USD.
The camera setup gets a serious overhaul on this standard model. The primary camera relies on a large 1/1.28 inch Sony LYTIA 828 sensor equipped with Zeiss gimbal stabilization, earning a professional CIPA 5.5 rating. For telephoto shots, the phone shares the Sony LYTIA 610 sensor found in the Pro edition, supporting 4K slow motion video at 120 frames per second. It also works with the Lipstick 200 teleconverter attachment.
Software tuning brings native 8K Live photo capture for the first time on a mobile device. Vivo partnered directly with platforms like Weibo to ensure full sharing compatibility for these high resolution moving photos. Users also get 4K cinematic Live capture that outputs classic movie color profiles straight from the camera shutter.
Up front, the phone features a 6.59 inch 1.5K flat LTPS display running at a 144Hz refresh rate. Battery capacity reaches 7500mAh, giving the device significant longevity for daily workloads. Fast charging is supported through 90W wired power and 40W wireless power. Vivo offers 4 regular colors including Earth Echo, Dawn, Night Shoot, and Sunny Day, alongside a special Sunny Day gift set with exclusive themes and music.
Under the hood, the octa core Dimensity 9600M processor pairs with the custom Blueprint V3 plus imaging chip for rapid image processing. The body is certified for IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance, with an ultrasonic 3D fingerprint reader built beneath the screen glass. Software is handled by OriginOS 7, which promises 72 months of smooth performance.
