Viltrox has released new Fog Moon Silver and Rock Moon Gray editions of its AF 26mm F2.8 EVO full frame lens for Sony FE mount cameras. The updated package includes a new square lens hood alongside the original circular version. The lens sells in China for 1499 yuan (about $206 USD), with introductory coupon discounts lowering the purchase price to 1419 yuan (around $195 USD).
The optical system consists of 8 elements arranged in 6 groups. Autofocus is handled by an STM motor combined with a gear type stepping drive mechanism. The minimum focusing distance measures 0.2 meters. The metal lens mount features a protective seal designed to block dust and water splashes from entering the camera body.
The lens body measures 23.8 millimeters thick and weighs approximately 130 grams. Viltrox bundles a magnetic front lens cap to speed up storage. The included round lens hood has a 43mm front thread to accept screw in filters, while the alternative square hood provides stray light reduction with a different visual style. Both new color options are currently shipping in China.
