Company of Heroes 3 Launches 3.0 Anniversary Update

Company of Heroes 3 has received its 3.0 update to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the real time strategy franchise. This major patch upgrades environmental weather systems, tactical artificial intelligence, and battlefield audio across core multiplayer and campaign modes. The release also prepares the game for the Operation Torch campaign expansion arriving later this November.

Relic Entertainment updated the battlefield simulation with dynamic weather effects that actively shift environmental conditions during combat. Sound designers rebuilt audio profiles to give weapon fire and artillery impacts more acoustic weight. The visual refresh also adds new cosmetic items alongside updated layouts and textures for existing multiplayer maps.

Computer controlled forces now execute flanking routes with better pathfinding and counter player movements more aggressively. General combat balancing touches unit armor ratings, weapon accuracy, and special ability timers across all playable factions. The defensive Final Stand mode receives extra scenario content to test solo and cooperative player tactics.

Single player commanders gain improved mission pacing, stability fixes, and refined progression on the dynamic campaign map. As the largest content release since the initial 2023 launch, this 3.0 patch establishes the technical foundation for the Operation Torch narrative expansion scheduled for release later this month.
