IO Interactive has released a free edition of 007 First Light across PC and home consoles. Titled the Free Starter Pack, the release includes the entire opening story chapter set in Iceland with zero time limits and full save data transfer to the complete edition. The promotion arrives alongside digital store price cuts of up to 50%, with a Nintendo Switch 2 edition planned for next year.
IO Interactive structured the Free Starter Pack around the full Iceland prologue assignment. Players follow the early origin story of James Bond without session timers or restrictions on play time. Completed progress transfers directly if players purchase the full release, which unlocks the remaining campaign chapters, challenge modes, and tactical simulations.
Digital storefronts cut prices on the full game to coincide with the free release. Steam and the Xbox Store offer a 40% discount, while the PlayStation 5 version receives a 50% price reduction. PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers receive access through a separate 1 hour trial format. These storefront sales run through later this month across the respective digital platforms.
The full edition of 007 First Light originally arrived on digital platforms earlier this year. IO Interactive plans to bring the stealth title to Nintendo Switch 2 next year, expanding the audience for the young Bond storyline beyond current hardware platforms.
