ASML forecasts the global semiconductor market to reach $1 trillion by 2030, fueled by the growing demand for AI chips.

Dutch chip equipment manufacturer ASML forecasts that global semiconductor sales will reach a staggering $1 trillion by 2030, fueled by the exploding demand for AI technology.

ASML Predicts $1 Trillion Semiconductor Market by 2030 Driven by AI

ASML expects to generate around $46 billion in equipment sales by 2030, attributing this optimistic outlook to the booming AI sector. President and CEO Christophe Fouquet stated:

We expect that our ability to scale EUV technology into the next decade and extend our versatile holistic lithography portfolio, positions ASML well to contribute to, and leverage the Artificial Intelligence (AI) opportunity, and allows ASML to deliver significant revenue and profitability growth.

ASML plays a critical role in the semiconductor industry, providing essential equipment to leading chip manufacturers like TSMC, Samsung, and Intel, who in turn supply chips to companies like NVIDIA and AMD for AI hardware. Their cutting-edge High-NA EUV equipment, considered the "holy grail" of chip manufacturing, costs around $350 million per unit.

Despite recent challenges, including weaker earnings due to US sanctions affecting their business with China, ASML remains optimistic about the future. They project a 9% year-over-year growth rate for the semiconductor market between 2025 and 2030, driven by the continued surge in AI chip demand.
