Snapdragon 8 Elite Improves Android Smartphone Battery Life

YouTube channel Dave2D has conducted battery life tests on the ASUS ROG Phone 9 Pro and OnePlus 13, both powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The results reveal notable improvements in battery performance.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Improves Android Smartphone Battery Life

Despite only a 5.4% increase in battery capacity (from 5500mAh to 5800mAh), the ROG Phone 9 Pro lasted almost 30% longer in the PCMark benchmark compared to its predecessor. The OnePlus 13, with an 11% larger battery (6000mAh), demonstrated a remarkable 42% improvement in battery life over the previous model under the same test conditions.

While benchmark results don't perfectly reflect real-world usage, they suggest a significant improvement in battery life for devices using the Snapdragon 8 Elite, corroborating Qualcomm's claims of increased energy efficiency.
