AMD Releases Adrenalin 25.10.2 Driver With New Game Support and Fixes
AMD has come out with a new driver named Adrenalin 25.10.2, its second update for this October. This release is meant to optimize the well-known AAA games, add compatibility for newly launched hardware, and address a variety of known issues with multiple titles.
Key Features of the 25.10.2 Driver
Noteworthy marketing stuff in this update is the release of some pretty important new features for gamers and, of course, for those with the newest hardware.
New Game Support
- Battlefield 6 (DX12): It had some initial beta support, but this driver will be the driver intended for the optimal day one experience.
- Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 (DX12).
New Hardware Support
- AMD Ryzen AI 5 330- Officially adds driver support for this entry-level APU.
Resolved Issues and Fixes
A number of fixes in this driver deal with several crashes and performance problems across multiple games:
- Intermittent application crashing under variable conditions using a Radeon RX 7900 series graphics card while loading some game content in The Last of Us Part II.
- Application crashes while playing FBC: Firebreak on some AMD Ryzen processors, specifically AI 300 and 8000 series.
- Observations showed corruption (missing scan lines) in GTFO with Radeon RX 7000 series graphics.
- Stuttering in games with some VR headsets at 80Hz or 90Hz, using Radeon RX 7000 series products.
- Detected random application crashes in NBA 2K25 MyCareer mode on a Radeon RX 9070 series graphics.
- Stuttering has been noted while playing Baldur's Gate 3 using Radeon RX 9000 and 7000 series graphics.
- Texture flicker or corruption has occurred in Serious Sam 4 on Radeon RX 6000 series graphics.
- Shadow corruption in the left eye, while gaming via VTOL VR, is possible on Radeon RX 7000 and 9000 products.
- Covers multiple security vulnerabilities, including CVE-2023-4969 and CVE-2024-21969.
Technical Updates Important Upgrading and Maintaining Information
Expanded Vulkan Support
This driver now introduces support for many new Vulkan extensions like VK_KHR_video_encode_av1 and VK_EXT_shader_float8 for Radeon RX 7000 and 9000 series GPUs.
Important Notes
- In case of reverting to previous versions of drivers, AMD recommends using its Cleanup Utility.
- Radeon RX 7900 series products will not allow USB-C power charging in this version. For this feature, users must use version 25.3.1.
Known Issues
AMD knows about the following problems and is working on fixes:
- Crashes or timeouts of drivers in Cyberpunk 2077 when loading a previously saved Path Traced game:
- Crashes or timeouts may be seen in Battlefield 6 on the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370.
- Texture flickering occurs in Battlefield 6 under AMD Record and Stream.
- The Radeon Anti-Lag 2 option may not be available to Counter-Strike 2 (DX11) on some GPUs, such as the Radeon RX 9070 XT.
