GameMT Unveils EX5, a Hand-Held Inspired by PS-Vita With a 1080-p Display
GameMT is preparing to introduce a new handheld, budget gaming device - EX5. The device bears a design which appears to be strongly inspired by the PS Vita, and it comes with a 5-inch, 1080p IPS display, which is way higher than many of its market competitors.
Core Specifications and Hardware
It runs on the MediaTek Helio G85, a 12nm chipset present in many affordable smartphones, including the Redmi 15C. The processor also provides the device with a Mali-G52 MP2 GPU. The core hardware features include:
- Processor: MediaTek Helio G85 (2x Cortex-A75, 6x Cortex-A55 CPU cores)
- Memory: 4 GB of RAM
- Storage: 64 GB internal storage reminiscence, with a microSD card reader for expansion
Display and Future Performance
The feature that most prominently stands out in the GameMT EX5 is its 5-inch IPS display with a 1920 x 1080 pixels of resolution. Although high-definition signals better clarity of vision in an affordable instrument, it can also cause some trouble for the Helio G85 chipset while emulating content heavier than other emulators assumed to be running.
Design and Commands
Overall, the design is somewhat PS-Vita-ish. Furthermore, it will be running on Android. An interesting design choice is swapping the right hand joystick with a button or toggle for switching between performance modes.
Release Details
The GameMT EX5 release date is still pending. Recently, the company launched some new models alongside the EX5, including E3 Vigor and E5 Ultra, as it pics lines where it can add available gaming handhelds.
