Samsung Exynos 1680 Silicon Uses 4nm Process Technology to Power Galaxy A57 and A37 Smartphones with AMD RDNA 3 Graphics and Advanced AI Features
Samsung has developed Exynos 1680 silicon which will power its future mid range products. Samsung has introduced the Exynos 1680 processor as the main processing unit for Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37 smartphones. The new silicon product uses 4 nm manufacturing technology to achieve better energy efficiency than its earlier version. Samsung wants to provide flagship mobile users with high performance and stable operation through its advanced process technology.
The Exynos 1680 processor uses an eight core system to handle demanding operations while saving power. The core system starts with a high performance Cortex A720 core which operates at 2.9 GHz. The system includes four performance cores which operate at 2.6 GHz while three energy efficient Cortex A520 cores run at 1.95 GHz to complete background tasks. The specific setup of this system is designed to create smoother user experiences during continuous processing and better system performance.
The system achieves enhanced graphics performance because of the Xclipse 550 accelerator which uses the AMD RDNA 3 architecture for its design. The Samsung GPU achieves a fifteen percent performance improvement over the Exynos 1580 processor which had been the previous model. The system supports Full HD plus resolution at 144 Hz refresh rates while enabling gaming experiences. Mid range devices now deliver visual experiences which used to require premium flagship devices.
The generation focuses on artificial intelligence technology through its built in neural processing unit which provides 19.6 TOPS of computational power. The system now has 33 percent more AI processing capacity which supports tasks from photography to system optimization. The image signal processor now enables 200 megapixel camera sensor support while allowing 4K video recording at 60 frames per second with 10 bit HDR support. The media features use flagship grade memory support which includes LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage solutions.
The system includes an integrated 5G modem which enables Wi Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6.1 support to maintain connectivity requirements. Samsung positions Exynos 1680 as an adaptable base for upcoming mobile requirements through its combination of fast wireless technology and enhanced internal components. The Galaxy A57 and A37 will showcase the hardware with their international release later this year.
