Honor Win Turbo Launches with 10000 mAh Battery Dimensity 8500 Elite Racing Edition and 120Hz OLED Display for Extreme Gaming Endurance
Honor's gaming focused mobile range welcomes a new member in the form of the Win Turbo. The phone, which acts as a toned down counterpart to the gaming centric 'Turbo' brand of devices, ditches the active cooling fan and the active cooling mechanism and packs a gargantuan 10,000 mAh battery that's the signature feature of these devices. Honor officially states that the handset is designed to provide sustained power to the chipset for mobile gamers as well as be a long lasting alternative with 'Extreme endurance'.
In terms of its visual display, the Honor Win Turbo employs a 6.79 inch LTPS OLED panel, capable of rendering images at a 2640x1200 pixels resolution. The 120Hz refresh rate allows the panel to refresh content with fluidity, especially in gaming scenarios, while the device also has the potential to reach 8000 nits of peak brightness under favorable conditions. Internally, the phone is powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 8500 Elite Racing Edition chipset. This is coupled with LPDDR5X Ultra memory and UFS 4.1 high speed storage, ensuring that game loading times and overall system responsiveness are at par with other flagship gaming phones.
The standout feature of the Honor Win Turbo is its mammoth 10,000 mAh silicon carbon battery. This silicon carbon chemistry ensures a higher energy density than conventional lithium ion batteries, fitting a large cell size into the form factor of a standard phone. According to Honor's marketing, a single full charge is capable of lasting up to 14.2 hours of continued gameplay or up to 26.3 hours of continuous video playback. The device comes equipped with an 80W wired fast charging capability to juice up its large cell with relative speed. Beyond that, the Win Turbo can be used as a portable powerbank to charge other devices at wired speeds up to 27W.
For the imaging requirements, the rear panel is packed with a 50MP primary camera and a 5MP depth sensor. The front has a punch hole cutout with a 16MP selfie camera within. Apart from the cameras, the device boasts dual stereo speakers for a more immersive spatial audio experience. A linear vibration motor has been included for feedback, as well as Honor's custom C1 plus signal enhancement chip to help maintain network connectivity even when reception is poor. In terms of structural resilience, the Honor Win Turbo boasts IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, thus being able to withstand dust, waterjets under high pressure, and even submersion.
Honor is offering the phone in 3 configurations for the Chinese market. The base variant is equipped with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage and is priced at 2699 yuan ($399). The intermediate variant features 12GB of RAM coupled with 512GB of storage and costs 2999 yuan ($442). The top tier version with 16GB RAM and 512GB of storage has a retail price tag of 3599 yuan ($530).
