Dynabook has launched a new lineup of laptops featuring batteries that users can swap without visiting a service center. The family spans several compact models alongside larger 16 inch versions that prioritize easy maintenance and long battery life. However, the initial launch is limited to Japan with no global release details confirmed yet.
The flagship models in this release are the Dynabook XP9 and XP7. Both machines pack 14 inch screens into a chassis that measures under 12 mm thick and weighs roughly 999 grams. Power comes from Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, meeting Microsoft Copilot+ PC requirements while delivering up to 15.5 hours of video playback. Users can access the battery through a sliding hatch on the bottom cover. The design also meets MIL STD 810H durability standards and includes a rich port selection like Thunderbolt 4, USB Type A, HDMI, Ethernet, and a microSD slot.
For those who want an even smaller footprint, the company is offering the 13.3 inch Dynabook X9 and X7. These versions weigh just 948 grams and use Panther Lake processors to deliver up to 17 hours of battery life. The absolute lightest model in the family is the G9, scaling back the weight to just 899 grams. The G9 still retains a rugged MIL STD 810H design, a full array of connectivity options, and the signature user replaceable battery feature.
Users requiring more screen space can opt for the 16 inch models. The premium T9 model features an Intel Core Series 3 processor with an integrated NPU for AI acceleration. The rest of the 16 inch lineup uses older Intel Core Series 1 silicon. The T series models stand out by keeping a built in optical disc drive, a feature omitted on the slimmer C7 and C6 versions. All of these larger models still support easy battery swapping and come equipped with Dolby Atmos audio.
According to the announcement on the official Dynabook portal, retail availability in Japan begins tomorrow for the majority of the lineup. The high end T9 laptop is scheduled to hit store shelves early next month. The company has not provided any updates regarding a release in western markets.
