Asus has officially released the Ascent QN10, marking the retail arrival of the first mini PC powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite silicon. The ultra compact desktop packs an 18 core processor, 80 TOPS of artificial intelligence compute power, and fast Wi Fi 7 wireless connectivity into a chassis weighing only 620 grams. The base model with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of solid state storage is now on sale starting at 9999 yuan about 1490.04$ US.
This release represents a significant move for Qualcomm processors outside the laptop space. Built on a 3nm production process, the Snapdragon X2 Elite processor carries 18 CPU cores designed to sustain desktop workloads with minimal heat output. Local artificial intelligence tasks get a massive performance lift from an integrated NPU capable of 80 TOPS. System memory is equally rapid, featuring 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM operating at a high speed of 8533MHz.
Physical dimensions remain remarkably small despite the high end internal hardware. The square case measures 130 by 130 millimeters with a vertical height of only 40 millimeters. At 620 grams, the entire unit is lighter than many standalone tablets. This compact footprint allows it to sit on crowded workstations or mount discreetly behind an external monitor without occupying valuable desk space.
Asus included a wide selection of input and output ports across the chassis. Connectivity includes 3 full function USB C ports running at 40Gbps, 3 USB A ports running at 10Gbps, and 1 standard USB A port at 480Mbps for legacy accessories. Video output is handled through an HDMI 2.1 FRL port, while hardwired internet connections utilize a 2.5GbE RJ45 ethernet jack. Wireless connectivity is rounded out by Wi Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 support, alongside 1 combo 3.5mm audio jack for sound.
