Lenovo has expanded its 2026 ThinkPad V14 laptop lineup with a new budget friendly hardware configuration. The updated 14 inch machine features an AMD Ryzen 5 40U processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 1080p display. It is currently available in China starting at 4,799 yuan (approx. $715 USD).
The laptop arrives in a Polar Gray finish and measures 19.9 millimeters thick. Lenovo fitted the front lid with a 14 inch LCD panel running at a resolution of 1920x1080. It is a standard clamshell design intended for everyday office tasks and students who need a portable workstation without unnecessary bulk.
Under the hood, the machine runs on an AMD Ryzen 5 40 series processor with 4 cores and 8 threads. Lenovo matched this chip with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 512GB PCIe solid state drive for storage. The hardware is set up to handle typical multitasking, document editing, and web browsing with minimal power consumption.
Physical connectivity is surprisingly generous for an entry level office notebook. On the left side, users get 2 full featured USB C ports, 1 USB A 3.2 Gen 1 port, 1 HDMI port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The right side houses an extra USB A 3.2 Gen 1 connection alongside a dedicated RJ45 ethernet port for stable wired network access.
