The Ray Ban Meta Audio is the first entry in the product family to ship without built in cameras. Removing the optical sensors solves privacy concerns for users who want smart features without filming their surroundings. Dropping the camera components also brings the total weight down to just 43 grams. Open ear speakers allow users to stream music listen to podcasts take voice calls and talk to the assistant while keeping their phone in their pocket. Battery life reaches up to 12 hours on a single charge and the included charging case provides another 48 hours of power.
Physical comfort has been improved with adjustable ear stems ergonomic hinges and swappable nose pads. Buyers can choose from 23 lens and color variations across 2 distinct frame designs. The Clubmaster frame delivers a retro appearance while the Burbank offers a classic rectangular shape. Both designs fully support prescription lenses. Pricing in the United States starts at $349.
Alongside the audio model Meta also introduced the full featured Ray Ban Meta Gen 3. This third generation hardware retains front facing cameras while trimming down the frame thickness for daily wear. A dedicated customizable action button provides instant access to AI tools. Battery life has jumped from 8 hours up to 9 hours of continuous use on a single charge.
Call quality is handled by a 6 microphone array that blocks more than 90% of background noise during calls and voice prompts. Meta also confirmed that an upcoming software update will enable video recording with Dolby Atmos and 360 degree spatial audio capture.
