Poco has launched the F9 Pro alongside the flagship F9 Ultra, bringing 185Hz gaming displays and 200MP cameras to global buyers. Both devices run Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 silicon alongside a custom VisionBoost D8 graphics chip to push high frame rates. However, international buyers face smaller battery capacities than the Chinese Redmi equivalents and will find no charging brick inside the retail packaging.
Poco decided to retain the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor across both models to protect buyers from rising component costs during the ongoing memory supply crunch. The F9 Pro gains parity with the Ultra this time around, stepping up from older silicon. A dedicated VisionBoost D8 companion chip handles frame interpolation and image rendering. Poco claims this hardware combination delivers up to 185 frames per second across more than 20 supported game titles. In house testing on the F9 Ultra produced an AnTuTu benchmark score of 4,165,108 points.
The screens are built on new M11 luminescent material using a HyperRGB subpixel layout. The F9 Ultra sports a 6.9 inch screen, while the F9 Pro opts for a more pocket friendly 6.59 inch display running at 2510x1156 resolution. Both panels refresh at 185Hz. Brightness reaches 4500 nits under standard conditions and peaks at an astonishing 10000 nits during 1% window HDR playback. Eye protection is backed by TÜV Rheinland Quadruple certification under the Xiaomi Vision Care banner.
The most dramatic difference between these global releases and their Chinese counterparts lies in the battery department. The F9 Ultra holds an 8050mAh cell, representing an 11% reduction compared to the Redmi K100 Pro Max. The F9 Pro takes a heavier cut, packing a 6330mAh battery compared to the 8580mAh capacity found in China. That is a drop of 2250mAh, or more than 25% of the total capacity. A Xiaomi representative explained the hardware decision directly:
The smaller cells come down to meeting global standards and the reduction was necessary for the company to ship the devices worldwide.
Both models support 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. You also get reverse charging speeds of 27W through a cable and 22.5W wirelessly to power accessories. However, Poco has removed the wall adapter entirely from the global packaging, meaning owners must supply their own 100W power brick.
Poco equipped both phones with a 200MP primary sensor featuring optical image stabilization. The F9 Pro uses a 50MP floating telephoto lens with 2.5x optical zoom capable of focusing on objects as close as 10cm, alongside an 8MP ultra wide sensor. The higher end F9 Ultra switches to a 5x periscope telephoto lens offering 10x lossless zoom and 20x AI zoom. Selfies on both models are handled by a 32MP front facing camera.
Sound engineering comes through an ongoing partnership with Bose. The F9 Ultra features a 2.1 channel audio system with 2 stereo speakers and an independent 1620 subwoofer. The F9 Pro drops the subwoofer in favor of 2 sealed cavity 1115F speakers. Both devices include custom audio tuning profiles, with a specialized game mode designed to boost enemy footstep sounds in competitive shooters.
The F9 Pro sells in White, Black, and Aurora Green. The green variant includes an unconventional glow in the dark back cover that absorbs light and lets users sketch temporary patterns with a laser pointer. Pricing for the F9 Pro begins at $699 or €899 for 12GB of RAM with 256GB of storage, with early promotional pricing reducing that entry point to $649 or €739. The 12GB and 512GB model sits at $769 or €999.
The flagship F9 Ultra is available in Dark Cherry and Black finishes. Base pricing starts at $799 or €1,099 for the 12GB and 256GB configuration, with early buyers able to secure it for $729 or €829. The top tier model with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage retails for $1,199 or €1,399, with an early promotional rate of $1,059 or €1,199.
