RedMagic 10S Pro Series: Serious Gaming Muscle Unleashed with PC Emulation

Hey, mobile gamers. RedMagic has officially unveiled the new 10S Pro series in China, and it looks like they are not holding back. This series consists of two new powerful devices with serious heat under the hood, even more so with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, and an interesting built-in Windows PC emulator for games. Could it be the best pocket gaming device.

What's More: Speed and a Bit of PC Gaming Charm

Mainly on the 10S Pro series is one headline: Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version. Think of it like the already beefy Snapdragon 8 Elite but with its training wheels off – it's overclocked essentially. We've seen this chip blaze through AnTuTu benchmarks, so expect high-octane gaming performance from these new RedMagic phones.

For RedMagic, however, the installation of a Windows emulator for PC games is pretty cool. It is said to be able to run older AAA PC titles at playable frame rates. Even more interestingly, this emulator is purportedly able to support both Steam and Epic Games launchers. Talk about gutsy: this throws RedMagic right into the comparison with many other brands with similar features.

A Display Meant for Action and This Time with No Distraction

Of course, no gaming phone would be a gaming phone without display glory, and the 10S Pro series means to deliver such. What we are looking at is a 144Hz display with ultra-slim bezels, and importantly, without punch-holes or notches. Pure uninterrupted canvas for gaming. RedMagic states that this panel can achieve peak brightness at 2000 nits, has a 95.3% screen-to-body ratio, and boasts an incredibly high 2,500Hz touch response rate. Notably, RedMagic claims the use of an AI-based algorithm for the under-display camera capable of facilitating noise-free photos while maintaining seamless screen integrity.

Gaming Stuff by the Bunches

But the gaming twist is still fitted next to all that. On the back are a dual-camera 50MP team. In the middle, an active cooling system is ensured (much needed in marathon game sessions.), 520Hz shoulder buttons with ultra-fast response, crazy LPDDR5T RAM, and RedMagic's very own Core R3 Pro chip, designed to have extra juice kicked in for the game.

What's the Difference: Pro vs. Pro+

This, in essence, is what sets the RedMagic 10S Pro apart from the 10S Pro+. The battery and charging, basically:

  • The RedMagic 10S Pro is well packed with a 7,050mAh battery while supporting 80W of fast charging.
  • The RedMagic 10S Pro+ moves up to 7,500mAh and maintains 120W of super-fast charging.

China Pricing (News Global to Come)

As at now, the phones are already launched in China. The base 10S Pro starts from CNY 4,999 (about $694 USD), and the 10S Pro+ starts at CNY 5,999 (around $833 USD). While no word about international pricing or when we'll see these powerhouses outside its homeland has been issued from RedMagic. Rest assured, we will have our ear close to the ground.
