Capcom's soon-to-come scare game, Resident Evil 9 (known as Resident Evil Requiem), has hit a big goal before its release. The game maker said the game got over one million wishlists at different online shops, all in less than a month after it was shown.
Capcom told the world this news on its X social media page, and thanked fans for their quick and big love. The game has been on wishlists at places like the PlayStation Store and Steam since it was first shown in early June 2025. This fast growth in wishlists shows a lot of people are waiting for the next game in this long series.
Resident Evil Requiem was a big last reveal at the Summer Game Fest 2025. The trailer showed us a new lead, Grace Ashcroft, an FBI worker and the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft from the 2003 PlayStation 2 game, Resident Evil Outbreak.
The game will take us back to the known Raccoon City. Grace Ashcroft is looking into the Wrenwood Hotel, the place where her mom was killed. The trailer showed a broken Raccoon City and the old Raccoon City Police Department from Resident Evil 2.
Resident Evil Requiem wants to keep up the big sales of past games. Resident Evil Village sold three million units in just four days and made it to 11.3 million by March 2025. The Resident Evil 4 Remake (2023) also did well, selling 9.9 million units. These numbers set high hopes for how well Requiem will do when it comes out.
Resident Evil Requiem will come out on February 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC.
Fans can look forward to new game videos at Capcom’s Spotlight event on June 26, 2025. There will also be a demo to try at Gamescom in August 2025.
