Cyberpunk 2077 Top Version Hits macOS Look at Speed & Ray Light Game Bits

CD PROJEKT RED just said yes to drop Cyberpunk 2077 Top Edition for Apple Silicon Macs on July 17. All add-ons and the Phantom Liberty big add-on are in the game's real Mac port, but the team gave key points on what to expect for big things like ray light gaming.

Ray Light Speed and Needs

To keep top speed, ray light will be off to start on all fitting Macs, no mind how they are built. Only M3 series chips and new ones can do fast ray light. The speed aims are clear:

  • For 60 FPS Fun: You need an M3 Max chip. This frame speed comes with the ray light set to ‘Medium’ and at a 1,920 x 1,080 screen size with MetalFX DRS (changes screen size to help speed) on.
  • For 30 FPS Fun: You need an M3 Pro chip for this aim with the same ‘Medium’ ray light and screen size.

CD PROJEKT RED didn't tell if this setting lets normal ray light or the harder draw of path tracing.

Low Needs and Stuff it Can Do

The game works best for all kinds of Apple Silicon chips. The small need to play Cyberpunk 2077 Top Edition is a Mac with an M1 chip and 16GB of joint RAM.

This real drop comes with some new things that weren't there with old port tools:

  • Up-making tech like Apple's MetalFX and AMD FSR.
  • MetalFX Frame Change to up speed.
  • Works with Apple's Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad.

What You Get and Where to Buy

The Top Edition gives the full game time, with free add-ons, stuff from new fixes, and the big add-on, Phantom Liberty.

Get the game on July 17 at these shops:

  • Mac App Store
  • Steam
  • GOG.com
  • Epic Games Store
