Nioh 3 Release Date Confirmed for February 2026 in New Gameplay Trailer

A new trailer shown during a State of Play event for Nioh 3 has revealed some gameplay options and confirmed a release date of February 6, 2026. The game is launching on the same day for PC and PlayStation 5.

Story, Gameplay, and Release Details

The trailer sheds some light on the story set in Japan's Sengoku era, which will feature actual historical figures, in 1572. The gameplay aims to evolve the series' intricate combat with a mixture of two distinct styles of combat and more open-ended level designs. As expected, the footage showed challenging clashes with regular enemies and tougher bosses.

Given the confirmed launch date, this announcement has gained some credibility, as it corresponds to an Amazon Japan listing unreleased for a while.

Improvements Based on Alpha Demo Feedback

Even if the full game is still some months away, Team NINJA and Koei Tecmo have already collected player feedback from a limited-time alpha demo that was previously conducted on PlayStation 5. Even after the feedback, on launch, several improvements will be made:

  • Balance adjustments to gameplay mechanics.
  • Refinements to the control scheme.
  • Increased visibility in specific stages, including less fog.
  • Visual enhancements such as improved Global Illumination and textures.

Nioh 3 is slotted for a release on PC and PlayStation 5 on February 6, 2026.
